
Do’s/ Don’ts
- The person who is meditating should daily exercise yoga or pranayama (Breathing Techniques) along with meditation daily.
- Intake of sattvik diet should be followed you may face difficulty while meditating If you take more of taamsik or rajsik diet during your meditation period.
What to eat? What not to eat?
The person who needs to meditate should take saatvik diet as his priority and either reduce or avoid intake of Rajsik diet or Taamsik diet.
Saatvik diet
Cow’s milk, cream, butter, cheese, ghee, fresh and ripe fruits like apple, banana, grapes, papaya, pomegranate, mango, orange, pear, pineapple, guava, dates, coconut etc.
Fresh vegetables like bottle gourd, spinach, tomato, ladyfinger, cabbage, lemon etc.
Honey, almonds, pistachio, raisins (सोगी), grains, barely, oat, rice, peanuts, porridge (दलिया), unpolished pulses etc.
Ginger, cinnamon, coriander, fennel seeds, cardamom, turmeric etc.
Rajsik diet
Meat, fish, eggs etc.
Salts, chilies, spicy sauces, asafoetida (हींग), pickles, tamarind, mustard (सरसों), sour products, tea, coffee, coco powder, white sugar, carrot, turnip, pungent spices.
Taamsik diet
Onion, garlic, stale and inedible things, food which repeatedly reheated and recooked twice or more than that cow’s meat and all other types of intoxication such as liquor.
