Tasty Roti Noodles – Leftover Rotis Recipe

Sometimes kids left chapattis / tiffin back to home as it is then you may turn those chapattis into a tasty roti noodles to avoid the wastage of food. This is sure a kid’s menu and you can give this to your kid when he come back hungry from school.

About Sauteing

Sauteing is one of the better ways to cook vegetables if you want to maintain as many of their nutrients as possible. To saute vegetables, cut them into evenly sized pieces and add them to a hot pan coated with a small amount of oil or other fat, as the oil helps to lock in the nutrients. Stir just enough to make sure all sides get covered in oil, and cook only until the vegetables are tender when you poke them with a fork.

Ingredients :-

  • Roti (Chapattis) – 2

  • Onion – 1 – chopped long lengthwise (optional)

  • Tomato – 1 – – chopped long lengthwise

  • Capsicum – ½ – chopped long lengthwise

  • Green pea –  a handful (optional)

  • Cabbage – ½ cup – chopped long lengthwise

  • Carrot – ½ cup – chopped into thin strips

  • Tomato Sauce –  1 tbsp. Or Tomato Puree

  • Oil – 1 table spoon

  • Black peppper powder – a pinch

  • Jeera / Cumin seeds – 1 tea spoon

  • Soya sauce – ½ tbsp.

  • Lemon juice – ½ tbsp.

  • Salt as per taste

Method / Directions & Preparation : –

1. Cut all the vegetables into thin strips. Tear the roti into strips as well.

2. Heat oil in a kadai.  Add ginger, Cumin (jeera) and fry for a few seconds and then add the onion and capsicum strips. Sauté for a minute, then add the cabbage. Sauté all the veggies for 2-3 minutes.

3. Once the capsicum and cabbage begin to soften, add the tomatoes and tomato puree or tomato sauce. Season to taste.

4. Toss in the roti strips and mix it thoroughly with all the ingredients. Cover the lid and let it cook for 2 minutes.

Your innovative roti noodles are ready!

Suggestions :-

Prefer tomato puree instead of tomato sauce.
Do not use refined oils  in cooking as they are not good for health so prefer olive oil or sesame oil in cooking.
Do not use overnight stale chapattis as not good for health.
